Steelwedge Positioned as a Visionary in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Supply Chain Planning System of Record

Company Recognized for Completeness of Vision

Pleasanton, CA – March 20, 2014  Steelwedge, the leader in cloud Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) solutions, today announced that it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc., in the Visionaries Quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for Supply Chain Planning (SCP) System of Record (SOR).”1

Gartner defines an SCP SOR as a planning platform that enables a company to create, manage, link, align, collaborate and share its planning data across a supply chain — from demand plan creation through the supply-side response, and from detailed operational planning through tactical-level planning. To be included this Magic Quadrant, vendors had to meet criteria related to SCP market presence, SCP deployments, global coverage, SCP functional coverage, and technical capabilities coverage.

Steelwedge believes its inclusion in this Magic Quadrant for the first time reflects the progress made with heavy investment in capabilities as a SCP System of Record. Traditionally focused on S&OP and demand planning technology as Systems of Differentiation (SoD) and Systems of Innovation (SiD), Steelwedge looks forward to the upcoming Magic Quadrants in these areas.

“To be recognized for our ‘Completeness of Vision’ is especially gratifying to us,” said Steelwedge CEO Glen Margolis.  The “Completeness of Vision” axis assesses market understanding, innovation, product strategy and business model. “Steelwedge is dedicated to understanding the needs of the marketplace and delivering innovative products that meet those needs through the cloud. We believe our placement in the Visionaries Quadrant reflects the strength of both our technology and our vision for innovative, effective supply chain planning.”
